Antioch Archeology Museum - Saint Pierre Church – Harbiye (Daphne) Waterfalls – Beşikli Cave - Titus (Vespasianus) Tunnels - Long Bazaar
On Saturday and Sunday at 06.30, we meet with our esteemed guests in front of Uğur Plaza, HRT TOURS agency. Our journey toward to Antakya begins at 06:45 with food and beverage services in bus.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY EXCURSİON
After the breakfast in the center of Antakya at the morning , we go ahead for our first route, Antakya Archeology Museum where is in Republic Area on riverside of Orontes and near the bridge. The demonstrated mozaics here are regarded second richest mozaic collection in the world according to its size, count and quality; besides, third largest musem in the world regarding to have coin collection and we see on guide information subsequently that here have a lot of pieces from Hittite, Hellenistic, Rome and Byzantine period and antiques from Daphne, Antakya, Atcana, Seleukeia Pieria and Alexandretta and unique featured mozaic collection which is elaborately made and wonderful colored. We see here wonderful green place where here’s locals go for picnic.We see cafes, restourants lined up along with waterfalls , ducks moving around and take wonderful photos and after trip of Daphne Waterfalls with clean air and wonderful sound of water, then we take a break for lunch. After that all lunch and walking historical graveyard in rocks worked by hand from Roman eras on path toward forest paralel to tunnel,even seeing famous among people with name of Besikli cave and walking in Vespasianus-Titus Tunnel, then we go ‘Antakya Long Bazaar’ where is rural products and join to colourful shops, narrow streets, known crowd everyday even us too. Due to being on historical Silk Road, placed on center of trade since old times, The Long Bazaar in the city center of Antakya is known, so to speak, beating heart of the trade. The Bazaar, unknown its exact date and inn, baths and mosque in there, keeps different artisans. Kurşunlu Inn in the Bazaar, informed that is builded in 17. century, attract our attention. It is possible to see in the Bazaar servicing to locals in city for centuries,more than varied from daphne soaps, pomegranate syrup , olive oil, licorice sherbet, kunefe, to tepsi kebab which all are rural products.We walk around briefly the Bazaaar has 3 Inn, 3 Baths and mosques and take photos of this nice tour. Then we take a brief free time to shop in here that is about 3,5 km long. At the end, after the this tour in historical Long Bazaar, we taste kunefe, one of the most impoartant desert among Ottoman gastronomy and patented by Antakya, before leaving from.
Then, begin to go back to Gaziantep.
After finishing our tour full of culture, we begin our enjoying travel to Gaziantep. We arrive again our first point of start again at 22:00 in Gaziantep. We say good bye to you our esteemed guest wishing to meet in another tour again .
